The Oregon Trail of Fuchsias
The 2010 Oregon Fuchsia Society Convention in Portland, Oregon
Friday, October 1 was the first full day of fuchsianeering. The day started off bright and early with a meeting of the fuchsia hybridizers group. Next, the morning’s featured speakers were up: Rodney Berquist with California: A Fuchsia World That is Always Changing and Salli Dahl who spoke to Fuchsias in Old Oregon. After lunch, it was on to the garden tours. Dinner was back at the hotel. After the mixer at six on six, of course. Barbara Blossom Ashmun, a garden author and garden columnist for the Portland Tribune amused all with an after-dinner speech called Garden Bloopers.
